Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is a manual technique that may help in reducing symptoms from muscleo-skeletal problems. Modalities that may be incorporated into this treatment may include Swedish or Deep tissue massage, Fasciae work, stretches, acupuncture or acupressure, or craniosacral. Assessment in initial interview will determine most effective course of treatment

Based in Traditional Chinese medicine, Style of Acupuncture my include Japanese pain-free (non insertion style). This style is performed in a series of three sessions first to balance the body, then strengthen, them release the pain. Different metals (silver, copper or gold) tonify or reduce the energy of the points with simple contact. This method may be integrated with different microsystem acupuncture(scalp, auricular, or abdominal) which use traditional fill-a-form insertion needles that are retained for 30-40 minutes in the body. Other styles may include Balance method or traditional zang-fu style.

My passion is with gentle techniques. Japanese non insertion acupuncture and cranial sacral form the base of my treatments along with fascial, swedish massage and microsystems or balance style acupuncture. I believe your body has the capacity heal itself, my job is to help facilitate this. I have 20 years experience in bodywork, including Registered Massage Therapist, Registered Acupuncturist, PhysioAssistant diploma, Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor.

I love helping people discover their natural self-healing abilities. I know you can thrive and find greater wholeness through treatments that address and integrate  body, mind and emotions. My own journey toward wholeness began with a life threatening auto-immune illness which forced me to address stress management and to explore the healing arts. Zen Shiatsu and Acupuncture are my core practices, and I have extensive training in Thai Massage and Reflexology.  I also find Breathwork and the Chakra model from Yoga very useful, and am currently studying to include Registered Massage Therapy in late 2021.  I compliment the work I do with Meditation, Qi Gong, Surfing, Rock Climbing, and Travelling with my partner Raylene Hill.
